Hassatou Diop N’Sele was appointed Treasurer of the African Development Bank Group in May 2015 and in 2022 was promoted to Vice-President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. She is a seasoned professional, with more than 25 years of banking and finance experience. She has led the expansion of the AfDB capital markets activities across the globe and is responsible for the funding of the Bank’s activities (USD 10 billion borrowing program for 2021). Mrs. N’Sele leads a diverse team of professionals in the management of the Bank’s US$ 33 billion borrowing portfolio, oversees the investing of the Bank Group’s US$ 25 billion liquidity in multicurrency portfolios, and supervises the Bank Group hedging activities and back office operations.
Prior to this position and from 2008, Mrs N’Sele was the Head of funding of the AfDB. She joined the Bank in 1999 as a Senior Treasury Officer. Prior to that, she cumulated eight years of business and banking experience in the private sector in Senegal, as a finance director of Tiger Denrees Senegal, a startup commodities trading company, and at Citibank Senegal, as a Manager in the Financial Institutions department.
Mrs N’Sele is a Senegalese citizen and holds an MBA in Finance and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the George Washington University, Washington DC.
Mrs N’Sele joined IFFIm’s Board of Directors on 1 July 2021.
