Georgina Baker will become IFFIm’s Board Chair on 1 January 2026. She brings more than three decades of global finance and development experience to IFFIm. She spent 30 years at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank, where she most recently served as Vice President for Latin America & the Caribbean and Europe & Central Asia. In this role, she oversaw investment and advisory operations across more than 60 countries.

During her tenure at IFC, Ms. Baker led several pioneering initiatives, including the award-winning Managed Co-lending Portfolio Program (MCPP), which mobilised institutional capital for emerging market infrastructure. She also spearheaded IFC’s global trade finance program, supporting over US$ 140 billion in trade through a network of 120 banks in 70 countries.

Ms. Baker also serves on the boards of Calvert Impact and PAC Doverie, a private pension fund in Bulgaria. She holds an MBA from London Business School and a degree in mechanical engineering from Kingston University, UK.
