IFFIm appoints Doris Herrera-Pol to its Board of Directors

Former World Bank Director brings enhanced understanding of capital markets

Washington DC and Geneva, 1 April 2016 – Doris Herrera-Pol has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the International Financing Facility for Immunisation (IFFIm).

We are pleased to welcome Doris Herrera-Pol to the IFFIm Board ... With her guidance, IFFIm will help Gavi reach even more children with life-saving vaccines.

Herrera-Pol recently retired from the World Bank where she was the Global Head of Capital Markets. She oversaw the team responsible for designing the World Bank funding strategy and managing its multi-currency funding program in global money, capital and derivatives markets.

“We are pleased to welcome Doris Herrera-Pol to the IFFIm Board,” said René Karsenti, Chair of the Board. “She has decades of experience working in the capital markets from her time at the World Bank, and has been involved with IFFIm since its inception. With her guidance, IFFIm will help Gavi reach even more children with life-saving vaccines.”

Herrera-Pol’s 3 year appointment to the Board began 13 November 2015.

IFFIm is a multilateral development institution created to accelerate the availability of predictable, long-term funds for health and immunisation programmes through Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, in the world’s poorest countries.
